Knill lauds Shakers goalscorers

The biggest crowd of the season at Gigg Lane saw the Shakers bounce back from successive defeats to leapfrog Dale into the top three. Bennett gave the hosts a 19th-minute lead with a scrappy opener before Jones added a superb second in the 84th minute, ensuring Will Buckley's injury-time strike for Dale was only a consolation. "There were over 7,000 here so it was a big game," said Knill. "It's probably the first one that all the supporters look for so for us to win is a great feeling and I was delighted at the end. "Rochdale were excellent last season and have progressed but so have we and for us to compete like we have is fantastic. "But we set up a team that allows players to express themselves and the two young wingers do that. They always want the ball and that takes real courage."
