Knill issues Shakers wake-up call

Aaron Downes caught the hosts napping after just two minutes, and Jack Lester doubled the Spireites' lead before the break. Bury were handed a lifeline when Gregor Robertson was sent off and although Andy Bishop halved the deficit with a penalty after an hour, Chesterfield held on to claim all three points and further dent the Shakers' automatic promotion hopes. "We have got a big game against Rochdale on Saturday, and another start like that and we will get beat again," said Knill. "It was pretty poor to concede two goals like that, especially the first one after a minute. "I thought second half we were excellent. It is not easy to play against 10 men but we moved the ball around the pitch and created some fairly good chances. I thought we would go on to get a second goal but unfortunately it wasn't to be."
