Yet Knill said he was unhappy with the "disgusting" views expressed by a number of supporters at the weekend.
He said: "It's ridiculous that the goalkeeper goes out and we have two people from St John's Ambulance telling him that he is the worst goalkeeper that has been at Bury for whatever number of years.
"What the hell is going on here, it's disgusting, they probably don't even pay for their tickets yet they have an opinion.
"We are third in the league, winning every week, a point behind second and for some people, nothing is ever good enough. It's a bit of a rant, but I feel it's worth it."
