Knill backing Carlton to shine

Carlton made an impressive impact in Friday's 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Merseyside giants Everton at Gigg Lane. The summer signing from Carlisle gives Knill another option in attack and will compete with Andy Bishop, Andy Morrell and fellow new recruit Ryan Lowe for a starting berth. Knill said: "Danny is aggressive whenever there is a ball to be challenged; he makes it a big challenge for the centre halves. "We have four strikers that are all proven now. Any successful team has that and they all understand that they are all going to play at some stage. "But they know that if they want to start, they have to be at their best every day."
