Johnson has a great chance - Knill
The former Leeds and Hereford man has impressed in the Shakers' opening two pre-season friendly fixtures, however, Knill wants the winger to carry on demonstrating his prodigious talent.
"Simon has got unbelievable ability, enough to play at a higher level than League Two", Knill told the Bury Times.
"For one reason or another he has been let go by Hereford and, at 26-years-old, he has to decide sooner or later what direction his career is going to take."
"It is difficult for trialists because they feel they have to impress quickly, but I have given a few of them a bit longer to show what they have got."
