Honours even for Shakers and Millers

League Two promotion hopefuls Bury and Rotherham played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Gigg Lane. Bury broke the deadlock in the 41st minute through Ryan Lowe's seventh goal of the season - and the 99th league goal of his career. But Adam Le Fondre equalised two minutes after the restart with his 10th this term. The visitors had the better of the opening stages with Jason Taylor firing over before Le Fondre dragged a left-footed effort wide from Nicky Law's throughball. Bury replied with Mike Jones blazing over from a Joe Skarz cross while Lenell John-Lewis went close with two long-range efforts. It was the Shakers who snatched the lead when Lowe latched onto a woeful backpass by Exodus Geohaghon to round Andy Warrington and tap into an empty net. The visitors made a great start to the second half as Kevin Ellison managed to cross from deep on the left for Le Fondre to head home unmarked at the near post. Nick Fenton then headed into the side-netting while Le Fondre fired over from distance. But Bury substitute Nicky Ajose, on loan from Manchester United, went closest to winning it when denied by Warrington late on.
