Dale have not won promotion since 1969 and have resided in the bottom tier of English football since 1974.

Yet they currently lead League Two by 10 points and Hill is confident his men have the ability to last the distance in the race to go up.

He said: "Our form is excellent and our results are excellent.

"If you look at it, we've scored more goals than any other team, so we're top of the league for a reason and have got a lot to be proud of.

"I would have thought it will be tasty at Bury on Monday but we're in a no-pressure situation because we're already safe for the season and now we just want to build on the success we've already had."
