Scott guided the Bees to promotion to League One and the title with a game to spare courtesy of a 3-1 success away to Darlington in their penultimate fixture of the season. The Griffin Park side were presented with the trophy after they rounded off their campaign with a 2-0 home victory over Luton. Scott saw off competition from Wycombe's Taylor, Bury boss Knill and Exeter manager Tisdale to land the award. Scott said: "I've always had faith in this side. I brought in 14 or 15 players last summer but we gelled very, very quickly and it was important that we did that. "We went on a couple of really good runs of 12 unbeaten and nine unbeaten. In January we were there or thereabouts and you know then that you've got a chance. "We kept the momentum going and got 43 points in the second half of the season and 42 in the first, so we were very consistent throughout. "I'm proud of the club because it has gone through a lot of turmoil over the last couple of years. We've got the good nucleus of a side here that can go on."
