Futcher doubt for Shakers
Bury boss Alan Knill could again be without defender Ben Futcher when his side travel to Sheffield Wednesday in the first round of the Carling Cup.
Futcher is rated as 50-50 after sustaining an ankle injury during pre-season which forced him to miss Saturday`s opening-day defeat against Port Vale.
Knill handed debuts to six of his summer signings against the Valiants but Micky Adams` men ground out a 1-0 victory at Gigg Lane.
Knill has no new injury concerns and believes his side can build on their performance at the weekend.
"I thought it was a positive performance," he said.
"We have a young team and we have to be patient and nurture and encourage because they will get better. I think this was a good learning experience for them."
