Clarets too much for Shakers

Bury began their pre-season campaign with a 3-0 defeat to Burnley at Gigg Lane. The Championship club scored two goals in 12 minutes to go into half-time with a 2-0 lead. New signing Ross Wallace marked his debut with a goal. The former Preston winger, who completed his move from Deepdale last week, then had a hand in the second goal scored by Steven Thompson. Chris McCann was involved in the build-up to that goal too in his first game since January. Burnley manager Brian Laws made wholesale changes for the second half to give his squad a run-out and Chris Eagles completed the scoring eight minutes from time with a clever dink over goalkeeper Cameron Belford.
