Casper unhappy with Pugh

Bury boss Chris Casper has admitted to being disappointed that midfielder Marc Pugh has spurned the offer of a new contract from the Shakers. The 19-year-old's current deal at Gigg Lane runs out at the end of the season and Casper fears he will walk away and leave a big gap to fill. He told the Bury Times: "It's the same old problem. Marc understands he is in the best place for his development, but for some reason chose to take advice from his agent, who I believe has only seen him play three times. "I'm very disappointed, because we have put a lot of hard work into improving Marc's game. Young players are the future of the club. "I know what Marc is thinking. We think the offer we have made is a good one, but he thinks he will get something better, higher up the ladder. "He may do, but at his age it is all about getting first-team football and I'd be surprised if he would be guaranteed that."
