Casper clinches double deal

Bury manager Chris Casper has attempted to stop his team's slide down the League Two table by bringing Crewe defender Darren Kempson and Walsall striker Tony Bedeau to Gigg Lane on one-month loan deals.

Kempson has started only seven games for Alex since moving to Gresty Road from Morecambe last summer, while former Torquay United stalwart Bedeau has managed to find the net only once for Walsall in 20 appearances this term.

"Everybody knows that we've been trying to freshen things up a little bit, and we've done that," Casper told Bury's official website.

"It gives us good experience, but also good legs as well. There's athleticism and strength and it's what the team has needed."

Bury have slumped to 19th after enduring an 11-match winless sequence in a dismal run that stretches back to mid-December.
