Bury turn to caretaker Brass

Bury have placed Chris Brass in caretaker charge of the side following the decision to axe management duo Chris Casper and Keith Alexander. Manager Casper and director of football Alexander left Gigg Lane on Monday following a dismal run of results which culminated in Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Darlington. Brass, who had been working with the club's Centre of Excellence, will be in charge for their FA Cup third round replay against Norwich City on Tuesday night. He made 26 appearances for the Shakers last season after deciding to resume his playing career following an unsuccessful spell as manager at York City. "Following the departure of Chris Casper and Keith Alexander on Monday, the club can now confirm that Chris Brass will be taking charge of all team affairs for the immediate future as caretaker manager," read a club statement.
