Bury hope for Knill retention

Bury manager Alan Knill has revealed he is considering a new contract extension tabled by the club's board. Knill has 12 months remaining on his existing deal, but has been linked with other clubs after taking the little fancied Shakers to the brink of automatic promotion to League One last season. "The board have made me an offer and I am mulling it over," he told the Bury Times. "I see this as a work in progress. There are things that needed to be done better when I came here and there are still things we need to work on. "It takes time to improve a club and hopefully I will get that. I feel we have brought the club forward quite a lot in the time I have been here." Director Ian Harrop added: "Alan has done very well for us and the board and supporters are delighted with the job he has done so far. "We are confident that he is the right man to move us forward."
