Bury boss David Flitcroft will run the rule over several players before his search for a first win in charge of the Shakers continues against York at Gigg Lane.

Captain Craig Jones remains a doubt after sitting out the last-gasp draw against Scunthorpe on Boxing Day with a groin injury while fellow midfielder Tom Soares has missed the last two Sky Bet League Two games with a hamstring problem.

On-loan full-back Shaun Beeley (hamstring) also did not feature against Russ Wilcox's team after being withdrawn just 34 minutes into the match at Plymouth and it remains to be seen whether he will be included in Flitcroft's plans.

Loanee striker Daniel Nardiello, who scored the injury-time equaliser against the Iron, looks set to continue in attack after the Bury boss confirmed talks were in an advanced stage about a permanent move from parent-club Rotherham.

York striker Ryan Bowman could make his first start in over a month as Nigel Worthington's side chase their first league win in nine matches.

Bowman, who returned to the bench for the Boxing Day draw at Accrington following a four-game ban, could be one of several changes.

On-loan Middlesbrough winger Ryan Brobbel is hoping to return to the squad and striker Michael Coulson is pushing for his first start since August.

Worthington, who has no new injury or suspension problems, must also decide whether to recall fit-again Michael Ingham (hip) or stick with on-loan Wolves goalkeeper Aaron McCarey.
