Beeley boost for Bury

Bury will be able to call on the services of Shaun Beeley again as they bid to stop a run of three successive losses when Southend visit Gigg Lane.

The Shakers will welcome the chance to contest a fixture on their own ground after three defeats on the road, one in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and two in Sky Bet League Two.

Loanee Beeley was unavailable for the latest reverse - a 2-1 loss against his parent club Fleetwood - but can feature again for Kevin Blackwell's side.

Bury have reported forwards Jessy Reindorf, Ashley Grimes and Temitope Obadeyi and midfielder Craig Jones are all carrying knocks and are rated as 50-50.

Southend hope skipper John White will be back for the trip.

The right-back missed last Friday's disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Scunthorpe - a fourth successive reverse - with a slight thigh strain but has returned to training this week.

Should White make it against the Shakers then boss Phil Brown must decide whether to revert Adam Thompson back to centre-half or stick with Mark Phillips and Luke Prosser at the heart of defence.

Midfielder Marc Laird and defender Julian Bennett both remain sidelined with long-term knee problems as the Shrimpers aim to get back to winning ways.
