Carson fit for Shakers

Bury goalkeeper Trevor Carson is fit to face Shrewsbury despite suffering a blow to the head during Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Preston.

The incident occurred when Carson attempted to punch the ball clear in the build-up to Preston's second goal in a 3-3 draw and the former Sunderland stopper experienced problems with his vision immediately afterwards.

The Shakers eventually succumbed to a 5-4 penalty shoot-out defeat and must now pick themselves up as they look to recover from back-to-back npower League One losses.

Ethan Ebanks-Landell is available having been rested by boss Kevin Blackwell in midweek, although fellow defender Adam Lockwood is set for a lengthy period on the sidelines after learning he must undergo groin surgery.

David Healy is pushing for inclusion once more having made his first start against Preston since suffering a calf injury on international duty with Northern Ireland last month but he will not be joined up-front by Andy Bishop, who remains absent due to a foot problem.

Shrewsbury are without Luke Summerfield.

The midfielder has been ruled out for a month after undergoing hernia surgery this week.

Youngster Ryan Woods - who made the bench for the first time in his career against Carlisle last weekend - is among the possible replacements.

On-loan forward Luke Rodgers is a doubt, after missing training on Thursday through illness. Wales Under-21 internationals Tom Bradshaw and Ryan Doble are on standby should Rodgers be ruled out.

Winger Mark Wright is a major doubt as he continues to struggle with knee ligament damage. He is likely to be missing for a second successive game, but boss Graham Turner is hopeful to have the 30-year-old back for the Boxing Day clash with Notts County.
