Bury could be without Craig Jones and Niall Maher for showdown with Scunthorpe

Bury paid a heavy price for a sixth straight win ahead of their table-topping showdown with Sky Bet League One leaders Scunthorpe.

Craig Jones (thigh) and Niall Maher (groin) were both forced off in the 3-1 midweek victory at MK Dons as the second-placed Shakers stayed a point behind Scunthorpe.

Kean Bryan and Kelvin Etuhu came on at stadium:mk and could start if the pair fail to recover in time.

Winger Danny Mayor hopes to be involved after missing the last two games with a jarred knee.

Scunthorpe are without Jordan Clarke who limped out of their thumping midweek win at Walsall with an ankle injury.

Scott Wiseman is expected to take Clarke's place as boss Graham Alexander aims to keep changes to a minimum after his side's stunning start to the season.

Apart from Clarke and longer-term absentee Luke Williams, Alexander can name an otherwise fully fit squad for the trip to Gigg Lane.

Stephen Dawson and Kevin van Veen will hope to figure in Alexander's plans after coming off the bench late on against the Saddlers.
