Shakers wait on Jones

Bury captain Craig Jones could miss the derby game with Rochdale at the JD Stadium on Friday night.

The midfielder came off in the first half of last Saturday's loss to Cheltenham after tweaking a hamstring, yet it is hoped the injury is not as bad as first feared with Jones having taken part in training this week.

Shakers boss David Flitcroft, who comes up against his former mentor Keith Hill in the dugout, hopes ex-Rochdale winger Ashley Grimes could be available following a hamstring problem of his own.

On-loan striker Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro has suffered a minor setback in his recovery from a similar injury and represents the longest shot of the three sidelined players.

Rochdale midfielder Matty Lund is hoping to shake off a knock.

Lund missed last Saturday's home win against Oxford after being forced out the week before at Exeter and if he is fit manager Hill must decide whether to recall him or stick with Peter Vincenti.

Hill will otherwise select from an unchanged squad with Scott Hogan, who has scored seven goals in his last five matches, likely to resume up front.

Dale have won four of their last five league games and will go top of the table with a victory.
