John-Lewis leaves attacking department short Bury will be without striker Lenell John-Lewis as they continue their search for a first win of the season against Carlisle. John-Lewis was stretchered off with a suspected cruciate ligament injury against Stevenage and is awaiting the results from a scan. New boss Kevin Blackwell could hand a start to on-loan striker Mark Cullen in his place. The Hull youngster came off the bench to score a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Boro at the weekend. Craig Jones is still sidelined with a hamstring injury and is not expected to be back for a couple of weeks. Blackwell will take charge of his first game at Gigg Lane, as the basement club look for a first three-point haul of the campaign after picking up just four points from their opening nine games. Carlisle manager Greg Abbott could make one or two changes to his starting line-up. The Cumbrians spurned a host of goalscoring chances in the home defeat to Crawley at the weekend and striker Kallum Higginbotham, on loan from Huddersfield, is pressing for his first league start after making way on Saturday for another loanee, Watford's Joe Garner. Manager Greg Abbott has no new injury or suspension worries, but could also consider recalling summer signing Mike Edwards after his side was undone by defensive lapses in the 2-0 defeat to Crawley. Midfielder Liam Noble is waiting patiently for his first start since the defeat at MK Dons at the beginning of last month, while teenagers Mark Beck and David Symington are expected to start on the substitutes' bench again. Carlisle won their last away match, at Coventry, and Saturday's defeat was their first in five league matches.
