Bury beaten by red hot Scott

Scott Rendell was Wycombe's hero once again after his second-half strike earned them a 1-0 win over Bury Rendell had scored twice in Wycombe's last game - a 3-1 FA Cup win over Chelmsford on November 27 - and his 69th minute goal was enough to secure the points. Bury had the first real chance of the game after nine minutes but Manchester United loanee Nicky Ajose's backheel was saved, before Rendell headed wide for Wycombe soon after. Bury striker Ryan Lowe nodded past the post after 28 minutes, but it was the home side who ended the half on top with Rendell, Matt Bloomfield and Stuart Beavon all threatening the Shakers' net. Wycombe started brightly after the break with Bloomfield and Gareth Ainsworth both forcing saves from Bury goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams. And they got the goal they deserved 21 minutes from time when former Peterborough frontman Rendell notched his ninth of the season, ensuring Bury failed in their quest for a club-record seven away wins on the bounce.
