Bury 1-2 Torquay: Match Report

15 March 2011 22:09
Zebroski leaves Bury shaken Torquay put themselves in pole position for a late charge at the play offs by coming back from a first-half battering to win 2-1 at Bury. The home side began the match with the confidence of a team that have lost just once since the beginning of January and went ahead after four minutes when David Worrall's cross was turned in by Chris Holroyd. Ryan Lowe could have had a hat-trick, while Holroyd hit the post and Damien Mozika and Worrall both spurned further opportunities to extend Bury's lead. With just a single-goal advantage, the Shakers were always going to be vulnerable to the sucker punch - and so it proved. Craig Stanley forced the ball home from close range for the visitors' equaliser on the hour mark, three minutes after the Gulls had had a goal ruled out for offside. And the visitors secured maximum points 10 minutes later when Chris Zebroski rose unmarked to head in Kevin Nicholson's corner.
