Last-gasp Nardiello shakes Hatters

Substitute Danny Nardiello struck in stoppage time to earn Bury a 1-1 draw in their FA Cup second-round tie against Luton.

Mark Cullen pounced on Bury goalkeeper Rob Lainton's error to break the deadlock for Luton in the 51st minute, but the hosts managed to force a replay as the clock ticked down.

Despite their poor form, Bury made a positive start with Danny Mayor and Danny Rose both going close.

A long ball then put Charlie Walker through on goal and although the Luton striker lobbed Lainton, it went wide of the Bury goal.

Both sides were struggling to create clear-cut chances, with Rose and strike partner Hallam Hope sending hopeful efforts off target.

But Luton took the lead through a bizarre goal just after half-time.

Scott Griffiths' cross from the left side of the box was blocked and, lying on the byline, he managed to poke the ball goalwards.

Yet, reaching down, Lainton somehow let it roll through his legs, gifting Cullen a tap-in from a matter of inches.

Bury gradually regrouped and Hope blazed wide from Mayor's through- ball.

Rose was denied by Luton goalkeeper Mark Tyler while Craig Jones sent two Chris Hussey corners over the bar.

Ricky Miller fired against a Bury post with five minutes left and the hosts took advantage, Nardiello forcing the ball in after Hussey's corner had sparked a goalmouth scramble.
