Brass wants wake-up call

Bury assistant boss Chris Brass believes Saturday's 1-0 defeat at neighbours Accrington will serve as a wake-up call to his players. The Shakers slumped to a disappointing 1-0 reverse and lost vital ground in the race for automatic promotion. Yet Brass feels his men can respond strongly and embark on another sequence of positive results. He said: "We tried to play the beautiful game, but we could all see from the moment we saw the pitch that it was never going to be a classic. We needed to realise that. "Hopefully it was the kick up the backside we needed, like earlier in the season at Crewe, and like then we can go on a good run again now."
