Branagan set for Bury bow

Bury boss Alan Knill will hand the goalkeeping gloves and jersey to Richie Branagan for the visit of rivals Stockport. The 19-year-old will make his Football League debut due to the absence of the injured Cameron Belford and because on-loan Stockport goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams cannot play against his parent club. Branagan's mistake led to the only goal of the game in Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Tranmere, but Knill is confident the youngster will rise to the challenge. He said: "I know that he is going to be a good goalkeeper and you only get better by playing." Knill fielded several fringe players against Tranmere but Efe Sodje, Ryan Lowe, Damien Mozika, Michael Jones and David Worrall are all set to return.
