Bishop motivated by new arrivals

Lowe and Carlton have joined the Shakers from Chester and Carlisle respectively and will compete for places with Bishop and Andy Morrell. Bishop, who is edging closer to full fitness after a knee injury, insists he is ready for the challenge ahead. He told the club's official website: "I think Ryan Lowe and Danny Carlton are really good signings. "Ryan is a goalscorer and I know Danny from playing against him in the Conference and he is a goalscorer, so it will be tough for places in the team. You got to be on your game if you want to be in the team. "The gaffer had a good quote over the summer - if you're not scoring goals, you are not in the team. There are going to be two disappointed players and they will be working hard to get into the team so it is going to be good."
