Barker proud as Shakers are promoted

Bury caretaker manager Richie Barker described the emotion of watching the Shakers seal promotion as "surreal" after their dramatic win at Chesterfield. Top scorer Ryan Lowe picked the perfect moment to smash home his 26th goal of the season, converting a dramatic 87th-minute winner to deflate Chesterfield, whose promotion was confirmed on Friday. Bury are still in the hunt for the title with two games remaining but for the time being, Barker was left to reflect on a memorable day at the B2net Stadium. He said: "It's a bit surreal to be honest. I set out to win it, I didn't think it was right to come here and try and get a point and at the the end the ball fell to the best finisher in League Two. "I retired from playing two years ago and thought that was the last time anybody sings my name, so for it to happen again is brilliant. "It was a great game and I'm pleased because I said before i thought it would be a great advert for League Two between the best two footballing teams in this division and it certainly was."
