Caretaker boss Richie Barker was pleased to sign off Bury's promotion-winning campaign with a thrilling 3-3 draw at Stevenage. The hosts led twice through goals from Scott Laird and Craig Reid but were pegged back by Steven Schumacher and Nicky Ajose. Schumacher scored again to put the Shakers ahead but substitute Ben May levelled just three minutes later. "It was breathtaking at times. Both sides created chance after chance and the game was a real spectacle for the fans of both sides," Barker said. "It's a real highlight for us to finish on and I think our fans have enjoyed it. Once again they've travelled a good distance in their numbers, and they've had plenty to shout about again. "It's been a whirlwind of emotion for me since I took over. I couldn't have asked for any more really."
