Barker is super - Skarz

Bury defender Joe Skarz says he would be delighted to see caretaker boss Richie Barker handed the managerial reins on a permanent basis. Barker was placed in temporary charge following Alan Knill's defection to Scunthorpe and has since guided the Shakers to four wins in as many games. The Gigg Lane outfit lie in second spot, five points clear of fourth-placed Shrewsbury with just four matches remaining. Skarz told the club's official website: "We are all very happy for Richie to stay in charge, he's been brilliant since he came in. "He's a calming influence on the lads. He's very like Alan Knill, very calm and rarely loses his head. "Maybe because we've won four out of four, he's not had to. He's been good, training has been good and we are all really enjoying it."
