Burton Albion boss Paul Peschisolido has admitted to being concerned by the drop in fitness of striker Greg Pearson.

The 24-year-old has scored four times for the Brewers this season, but has netted only once in his last 15 games, having dropped out of full-time training to focus on his studies for a physiotherapy degree.

Peschisolido told the Burton Mail: "I have a very high regard for Greg because I think he is a goal threat and natural scorer.

"But at the moment I'm worried about the way he fades in and out, which is purely down to his fitness levels.

"I make a lot of my decisions on the basis of what I see in training, so it becomes very, very difficult when Greg is not there.

"It's also unfair to put him ahead of the lads who are working hard in training all week."
