Pesch warns Hughes he will have to fight for place
Experienced midfielder Bryan Hughes has been told he will have to play a waiting game if he wants to revive his career with Burton. The 34-year-old is close to agreeing a deal on a short-term deal contract with the League Two club, but Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido believes Hughes` desire for regular first-team football could be a stumbling block."Money isn't the issue - that's been more or less agreed - but I don't want him to sign thinking he will go straight into the side," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail."I need to sit down with him and tell him the scenario because we're flying at the moment and I don't envisage any immediate changes in the area of the team that would suit him. I want to spell that out to him because I wouldn't want him to think I've brought him here on a false pretence."Of course, it would be fantastic to have a player of his ability and experience on board with the number of games we've got coming up. But if he does want regular football, he has to know that it is something I can't guarantee with us."It's really a question of whether Bryan is prepared to wait for that chance to come along."
