Pesch upbeat despite defeat

Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido refused to be too downcast after his side's first game in the Football League ended in a 3-1 defeat at Shrewsbury Town.

The Brewers had only Greg Pearson's deflected goal to show for their efforts, but Peschisolido was not too worried.

He told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "I've seen enough positive things in the game to not worry. We competed extremely well, with a fighting spirit and we're all positive.

"We prepared and we thought we were ready, but we fell a little bit short.

"If you go on the whole of the game, I don't think it was a 3-1. Two goals came from errors rather than being under too much pressure.

"But the season is not won or lost in the first game, we will get better and better."
