Pesch impressed by trialists

Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido has admitted he has been with left with a lot to think about after a number of trialists have impressed behind closed doors.

Peschisolido is currently trialling four players and they all featured in a reserve team clash with Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, which the Brewers won 2-1.

But money is tight for the Football League new boys and deals for all four are extremely unlikely.

Defenders Richard Jackson and Aaron Brown, midfielder Ferdi Elmas and striker Nick van Eijsden all impressed in the reserve match at Hillsborough, with van Eijsden and Elmas combining well.

"I'm happy with the squad I've got but if someone else comes along who might improve it, it's my job to sit up and take note," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail.

"The trialists all did well on Tuesday and they've certainly given me something to ponder.

"But first and foremost, I have to sit down with the chairman and try to work out whether the budget will allow us to bring in anyone else at the present time."
