Injury ends Austin's season

Burton Albion right-back Ryan Austin has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

The 25-year-old defender picked up the injury in the opening minutes of the Brewers' FA Cup second round clash with Gillingham on Saturday.

Boss Paul Peschisolido told the club's official website: "I'm devastated because he's been superb this season. So far he's probably one of our contenders for player of the season.

"He's a lovely lad, he's great to have around the place. He's bubbly and he's an example of the type of player we want around the club."
