Burton Albion midfielder Craig Dudley is hoping to make the most of a second chance at Eton Park, after re-joining the Brewers squad.

The 23-year-old former Oldham midfielder was told he could leave Eton Park in the summer and was set to join Halifax Town, however, he is now back in Nigel Clough's plans and is eager to prove his worth.

He told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "I had a bad season last year and this season I want to put it right.

"I've had a word with the gaffer and sorted a few things out and I'm going to take it as it comes.

"I still feel that I have a point to prove here. I've been registered as a player again and it's down to me to get back into the side.

"I don't want to just sit here collecting my wages, I want to be playing. I'm a young lad and want to get into the team.

"I'm quite happy to stay at Burton and fight for my place. No-one is guaranteed a place in the team and when you get a chance, whether it be 30 seconds or a full game, you have to take it."
