Doninger leaves for Brewers

Blyth Spartans midfielder Mark Doninger has left Grimsby for a trial at League Two rivals Burton.Mariners manager Neil Woods was casting his eye over the 20-year-old, who was released by Newcastle earlier this season.Doninger played for Albion`s reserves in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Tuesday night and Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido is keen to have another look at the player."The game was played in a mudbath, so it was difficult to make a judgement," said the Canadian."Hopefully he'll be able to train with us and play again in the reserves in conditions that lend themselves to a better assessment."
