Burton Albion player-manager Nigel Clough is hoping that his side can take a giant step towards safety in the next week.
The Brewers face Telford United this weekend and then meet Forest Green Rovers at The Lawn next Saturday and positive results from both games should see the Nationwide Conference newcomers well on the road to safety.
Clough told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "The next two games are absolutely crucial as they could drag us into a relegation battle or put us within touching distance of safety.
Four points would see us hit the 40-point mark and that would be a great psychological barrier to get over with 11 games to go.
"Hopefully, we will then be able to relax a bit, although we will still have to get close to 50 points as soon as possible.
"There's going to be a real dogfight at the bottom and anyone from us downwards could get dragged in."
