Robins record reaches double figures

Paul Benson scored his 100th career goal as Swindon extended their club record winning sequence to 10 games with a 2-0 victory at home to Burton.

In-form Benson bagged for the fifth time in six matches to help Paolo Di Canio's side move a step closer to promotion to League One.

Swindon dominated much of the game but took until the 53rd minute to take the lead through half-time substitute Ronan Murray. This time Benson turned provider by flicking on Matt Ritchie's cross for Murray to scramble home from close range.

It was game over just five minutes later when Luke Rooney's low cross was smashed past Ross Atkins by Benson.

The only negative for Di Canio's table-toppers was midfielder Jon Smith hobbling off with a head injury after only 28 minutes.

The win would have been by a greater margin but for Burton full-back Callum Driver clearing Benson's effort off the line.

Ritchie and Paul Caddis also came close for the hosts as the Brewers' poor run continued.
