Stanley draw sums up campaign - Pesch

Burton manager Paul Peschisolido felt the 1-1 draw against Accrington summed up the way his side have performed this season. The Brewers led thanks to Russell Penn's 46th-minute goal but Dean Winnard rescued a point six minutes from time to make it one defeat now in 19 for Accrington. Peschisolido said: "It was a mixed finish to the season for us. We had so many chances in the first half, if we'd have taken just a few of them we would have been very comfortable in the second half. But we didn't and then we got punished by a late goal - it's been the same old thing all season. "Whether we ran out of steam or got nervous I don't know, but it was a tale of two halves. The first half went to plan and we created numerous of chances, but when we came under pressure later in the game we couldn't deal with it. "On the plus side, we have gone six unbeaten - as I asked of the lads when we were still threatened with relegation. I still believe had we not had the backlog of fixtures we would not have found ourselves in a situation where we had to fight for our lives. "I take some of the blame for that because we have under-achieved. We've got to make sure we're better prepared, a better squad and a better team next season."
