Robinson: Agents fees common practice

19 August 2010 13:00
Chairman Ben Robinson has described the amount of money spent by Burton on agents` fees as "peanuts". Football League figures published this week showed Albion spent £4,960 on agents' fees last season. League Two clubs paid out a combined total of £366,781 during the period from July 1 2009 to June 30 2010 with big-spending Notts County accounting for £248,483 of that figure. Spending on agents' fees increased by £3.9million across the whole of the Football League last year. Robinson said: "Unfortunatley, it has become common practice but what we paid out is peanuts compared to bigger clubs. "Unfortunately, the higher you go up the football ladder the more you have to deal with agents. Even young players have representatives these days."
