Peschisolido upbeat for new term

Burton Albion boss Paul Peschisolido is in confident mood ahead of their second season as a Football League club.The Brewers have won four of their six pre-season friendlies and the Burton manager is delighted with the way his new signings have settled in.

Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby: "All the signings have looked sharp - that's why we brought them in.

"We are getting stronger. I'm really pleased with the way the team is taking shape and things are coming together."

The Brewers finished 13th in League Two last term and Peschisolido is confident that the club can push for a play-off place this time around.

I honestly believe Burton have the right stuff this season Charles Collins - BBC Radio Derby Sport And although Peschisolido's side lost 3-1 to Derby County on Wednesday, they showed their potential with an impressive 4-2 win over a young West Ham side at the Pirelli Stadium last Saturday.

Burton next face Kidderminster in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday, and are set to begin the new campaign with a home fixture against Oxford United on Saturday, 7 August.
