Moore happy with Brewers defence

Captain Darren Moore is encouraged by Burton`s central defensive options this season. The experienced defender, who was handed the armband this week, will make up a quartet of centre-halves available to boss Paul Peschisolido. He has been particularly pleased by his pre-season partnership with fellow new signing Nathan Stanton, who won promotion from League Two with Rochdale during the last campaign, and the two of them will look to keep last season`s player of the year Tony James out of the starting line-up. "With me and Stanno, we are different types of centre-halves. I'll be the more dominant figure, while Stanno is very athletic and very quick, so it is a great combination really," Moore told the club`s official website. "It is a great centre-half pairing and you`ve got to remember Tony James as well - the three of us are competing there. "Then we get Ryan Austin back in about a month's time, so defensively, in the centre, there is a nice mix."
