Woodall to the rescue for Daggers

Brian Woodall fired home a late equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw against Burton and extend resurgent Dagenham's unbeaten run to five matches.

A first half of few chances saw Adam Pearson head Justin Richards' cross wide for the Brewers, while Michael Spillane saw his 30-yard effort pushed behind by goalkeeper Ross Atkins at the other end.

The second half quickly exploded into life, though, and the home side were denied the opening goal when John Akinde's low shot was blocked on the line by Andrew Corbett.

Burton quickly moved in front, however, when Jacques Maghoma curled a 25-yard effort spectacularly beyond the reach of `keeper Chris Lewington.

As Daggers pushed for an equaliser Scott Doe saw his header blocked on the line by Adam Bolder, with Burton desperately hanging on.

The visitors could have made the points safe but Lionel Ainsworth shot straight at Lewington while Bolder should have done better with an effort after a swift counter-attack.

And with two minutes remaining, Woodall struck a stunning equaliser from outside the box to earn the Daggers a point.
