Clough desperate for Burton boost

Nigel Clough hopes former club Burton Albion can overcome their nervy end to the season by securing promotion to the Football League on Sunday.Clough spent 10 years as Brewers boss and took them to the top of the league before joining Derby County in January. [LNB]And he is desperate to see his former club go up by getting the point they need against play-off hopefuls Torquay. [LNB]"Come Sunday night our aim is to see us safe and Burton in the Football League," Clough told BBC Radio Derby. [LNB]"I sincerely hope that they can do it." [LNB]A point will be enough even if Cambridge beat Altrincham but should the Brewers lose then promotion will go down to goal difference. [LNB]"There has to be a big swing in goals," Clough explained. "Cambridge have to win by more than three if Burton lose 1-0. [LNB]"But it's still in their favour and their hands and if you had have asked us nine months ago, 'would you want to go to Torquay on the final day needing a point?', we would have taken it."
