Burton lose Lainton

An injury to Rob Lainton means Dean Lyness will return in goal for Burton when Hartlepool visit the Pirelli Stadium.

Lainton could miss the remainder of the season after suffering a finger injury during the defeat to Northampton last weekend. Lyness will replace the on-loan Bury goalkeeper to make his first start for the club since February 1 while Freddy Hall, recently signed on a short-term contract, will probably provide cover on the bench.

Callum McFadzean was also injured in the first half at Sixfields and is a doubt but Damien McCrory will certainly miss out, having been ruled out for around four months with a knee problem.

Albion boss Gary Rowett has the likes of defender Marcus Holness, midfielder Lee Bell and forwards Alex MacDonald, Gary Alexander, Ashley Hemmings and Michael Symes available should he wish to make further changes to his starting line-up.

Hartlepool midfielder Andy Monkhouse is hoping to return to contention on Saturday as his side bid to halt a run of five straight defeats.

Monkhouse has been sidelined for all five of those losses due to a hamstring injury, but could return to action.

Striker Marlon Harewood showed no reaction to his ankle injury after playing the full 90 minutes in last week's home defeat to Chesterfield and is expected to resume up front alongside 16-goal teenager Luke James.

Defender Christian Burgess (ankle) is not expected to feature again this season and has returned to parent club Middlesbrough, while Jonathan Franks and James Poole are among those pushing for recalls.
