Symes boost for Burton

Michael Symes is expected to return to the Burton squad when Chesterfield visit the Pirelli Stadium.

Symes missed the draw at Dagenham a fortnight ago with a niggling groin injury.

The on-loan Leyton Orient striker has since seen a specialist in London and been able to rest up after the home game against Wycombe was postponed.

Calvin Zola has also benefited from the snowy weather. The striker would most likely have missed last weekend's game with the hip and hamstring problems that have been blighting him recently but he should also be fit for the clash.

Aaron Webster has resumed training after his hamstring issue while fellow defender Nathan Stanton is fit again following a knee injury.

Albion boss Gary Rowett brought in Lee Fowler on Thursday and the on-loan Doncaster midfielder will also be available.

Chesterfield will check on Armand Gnanduillet.

The big Ivorian striker has been struggling with an abductor problem for the last three weeks but Blues boss Paul Cook hopes to have him back in contention.

Craig Clay could have returned to the squad against Plymouth last Saturday before the snow saw that game postponed. The midfielder, nearing fitness after a double hernia operation, has a better chance of inclusion this weekend.

Left-back Nathan Smith will miss the remainder of the season after breaking a bone in his foot during the win at Oxford on March 16.

Ahead of the trip to the Pirelli Stadium, where Burton have won their last nine league games on the spin, Cook said: "I think Burton are doing fantastically well and we should respect them.

"They've got a fantastic home record, do well away and that normally adds up to doing well.

"Their home record is quite awesome but we're going to go there on Saturday and one thing we'll tell our supporters is that we're going to have a go."
