Six appeal from Burton

Burton powered to a 6-2 victory over Wimbledon to register their first points of the season in stunning style.

Four of their goals came in a rush in 19 minutes of first-half mayhem as Gary Rowett's side bounced back from a 3-0 defeat at Rotherham.

The Dons' hopes of building on their opening-day win against Chesterfield were shattered inside 14 minutes.

Cleveland Taylor fired Burton in front with a stunning 20-yard shot into the far corner in the eighth minute.

After earlier hitting a post, Billy Kee's deflected 25-yard free-kick made it 2-0 in the 13th minute and a minute later Jacques Maghoma was on hand to sweep in the loose ball after a Justin Richards shot had been blocked on the line.

There was no lull in the onslaught and the hosts increased their lead in the 27th minute when Richards buried a 12-yard shot after a Taylor effort had been parried by goalkeeper Seb Brown.

Midfielder Robbie Weir smashed in a 20-yard shot in the 53rd minute before defender Zander Diamond headed number six in the 68th minute.

Substitute Byron Harrison (79) and Dutch defender Pim Balkestein (80) pulled back consolation goals for the Dons.
