Ten-man Daggers hold Brewers

Dagenham battled to a 1-1 draw at high-flying Burton despite being down to 10 men for most of the second half.

Billy Kee came off the bench after the dismissal of Jack Connors to cancel out a superb Lawson D'Ath strike for the visitors.

Burton almost took the lead in the 14th minute when Adam McGurk's powerful header was nodded off the goal-line by the diving Connors.

Scott Doe also did his bit the keep the visitors level when he got his body in the way of a fierce shot from Jimmy Phillips, before Robbie Weir and Matt Palmer blazed shots high and wide respectively.

Burton's first-half pressure counted for nothing and, on the stroke of half-time, D'Ath lashed a 20-yard shot high into the net after a rapid counter-attack.

Rob Lainton denied Medy Elito a second goal soon after the break, but it was backs-to-the-wall for Wayne Burnett's side when Connors picked up his second yellow card in the 55th minute.

Albion's equaliser duly came in the 69th minute when substitute Kee turned on to a Phillips pass and fired into the bottom corner.

Weir then hit a post in injury time as Burton fought in vain for a winner which did not come.
