Whitestone is referee at Leicester

Dean Whitestone from Northamptonshire will referee tonight's game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium and it will be his third Championship game this season.

It will be the fourth time he's refereed Burnley but the previous three have all been at Turf Moor, the most  recent of them being last season's 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace when, in fairness, he didn't get a lot right.

It was a game of two penalties when both awards were, shall we say, soft. He didn't give the first one that was converted by Jay Rodriguez but, having fallen for the antics of Wilfried Zaha all afternoon, he gave him the softest of penalties when he went down.

He did send him off later for kicking out at David Edgar, but again he was reliant on his assistant for that decision too.

It was his second poor game at Burnley and that's why, despite one good game, he sits in 51st place in the RATE THE REF Table with a rating of just 48.51 out of 10.

Zaha was one of six players he sent off last season and this season he's used his red card once in seven games, dismissing Notts County's Yoann Arquin in their 201 win at Crewe on the opening day of the league season. Arquin had just scored what proved to be the winner but was sent off for an off the ball incident having been shown a straight red card.

There were also four yellow cards in the game and so far, in those seven games, he's totalled 20 yellow cards with eight of them going to home team players and twelve to away team players.

His last game was Saturday's League One fixture between Portsmouth and Walsall at Fratton Park. Walsall won the game 2-1 and there were no cards.

The assistant referees are Danny Gratton (Staffordshire) and Gavin Muge (Bedfordshire). The fourth official is Michael Bull (Essex).
