Wes back, but for how long?

Wes Fletcher returned to Burnley from Accrington Stanley over a week ago, thus cutting short the loan deal that should have seen him remain at the Crown Ground until January.

No explanation has been give, in fact nothing was said at all by the club until today when the club confirmed that the recall papers had been lodged with the Football League after which manager Eddie Howe said: "Wes is back with us. Unfortunately his time with Accrington was cut short.

"We will wait and see what happens with Wes but there is the possibility he will go back out on loan."

Wes signed for Stanley during August and scored in each of his first two home games for them, a 1-0 win against Bradford City and a 2-1 success against Burton Albion. They proved to be his only goals in 12 appearances, the last of which being 12 days ago

For now, whether there is to be another loan or not, he's back with us and could be included in the stretched squad for tomorrow's Carling Cup tie against Cardiff.

He's featured previously in the competition this season, coming on as a substitute during extra time in the 6-3 first round win against Burton Albion at the Turf.
